How far can kitchen sink be from waste pipe?

We're buying a new build and the developer agreed to make some changes, as per our request. The sink is in a peninsula, but the developer has just said that it has to be very close to the end of the peninsula (see image) and that there's nothing they can do about this due to the location of the waste pipe. Is this really the case?

I just want the sink about 50 cm from the end of the peninsula to allow for enough room for dirty dishes. If there are regulations that you can point me to which states how far a sink can be from the waste pipe, please can you post a link to them?

I don't think it is regulations but more likely the necessary 'fall' or angle of the waste pipe, because it will be below the floor level.

Good lord op, why have you got the sink so close to the breakfast bar area? The peninsula isn't big enough to sit at with even the smallest amount of pots around the sink!

My hob is in the peninsula which is much more sociable to cook round than wash up!

There is a natural 'drop' which I think has a minimum fall level from the plug hole to the actual drain.

But no, socialist round a hob not a sink!

@Ohmygodthepain Unfortunately, there was no choice over the location of the job or the sink.

@Ilovemyshed Thank you for the link. It's a bit complicated to understand! Is this the table that tells you how far a sink can be from the waste pipe?

Personally, I'm not a fan of the layout, but have you considered a single, rather than a 1.5 sink? Would that help?
What is the usual layout?
