BOXT for aircon - any reviews?

Given our summers seem to be getting hotter and the main living room is south facing in an extension with lots of glass etc. I’ve decided it’s worth seriously considering getting AC installed in this part of the house.

I have looked at Boxt and it’s about £2.2k for a unit that will service this space. Similar quotes from local supplies have been about £1-1.5k more than this. It’s a Bosch one so should be fairly decent and they can install Thursday should I want to go ahead.

Can anybody share their experiences of Boxt and whether AC is worthwhile in the U.K, please?

I’m partly torn between buying decent blackout Velux blinds and a portable AC unit and just throwing money at it for long term comfort. The space does get a bit chillier in the winter thanks to the (shite) UFH so an AC could be helpful then?

I used to work for Toshiba air con dept, most of the units inside are generic, you dont usually get much difference with them. portable units are ok but the unit itself will generate heat so they are not the most efficient, the best units are the box ones that sit through wall or window, cost more but more efficient than portables, split units can be good but slightly less efficient, and at least the works are outside.

This would be a fixed unit as we don’t have the ability to pipe something through the windows (bifolds!)
