Could anyone lend me £1m please?

I couldn’t be having to do with cleaning all those windows !

Christwosheds · 11/08/2025 18:02

I love this house. It’s stunning.

FrostyMorn · 11/08/2025 18:05

Gorgeous!
Reminds me a lot of the Homewood near Esher which is owned (or just run?) by the national trust.

MH0084 · 11/08/2025 18:07

OMG this is absolutely my dream house too! Too bad the location wouldn't work for me (pretending I have £1m but choose not to buy it!)

Notmyreality · 11/08/2025 18:08

Nope. Looks like a school.

TheOtherAgentJohnson · 11/08/2025 18:09

Mine too. I think there was another thread on this house a while back, and the architect’s daughter came on to say what it was like living there.

If I’m paying over a million for a house I’m also having a cleaner to do the windows.

Happymover · 11/08/2025 18:11

Lovely inside but the exterior reminds me of my primary school in the 1950’s

hyggetyggedotorg · 11/08/2025 18:12

This style wouldn’t be for me - it looks like a school or community centre from the outside.

Seeingadistance · 11/08/2025 18:29

Gorgeous, and beautiful setting and views!

Heronwatcher · 11/08/2025 18:44

I also like it. But unless these types of houses are immaculately maintained they end up looking like a council office in slough on a Wednesday in January!

Lunaballoon · 11/08/2025 18:49

It’s been on the market a long time. I posted it on a thread about mid-century dream houses last year I think.

Pourtea · 11/08/2025 18:56

I remember your thread @Lunaballoon :)

It's my dream home too - I absolutely love it. Maybe the owners will accept a (very much) lower offer if they're struggling to sell ...

My own house is a similar style but much smaller and worth much less, and strangely (because I genuinely do love the house in the op), I hate it :(.

Papricat · 11/08/2025 19:06

Stunning.

IDespairOfTheHumanRace · 11/08/2025 19:38

The grounds and the setting are gorgeous, but the house....?

Absolutely hideous!

GoodQueenBess · 11/08/2025 19:53

It doesn't do it for me.

Thesoundofmusic23 · 11/08/2025 19:58

My dream house too! Keep hoping I’m gonna win big and make it mine 💖

I think I was on that thread but my memory is awful. Did you view it?

OP posts:
garlictwist · 11/08/2025 21:33

Love it! And it’s not too far from where I live. Sadly massively out of my budget though.

SpidersAreShitheads · 12/08/2025 04:04

I remember a previous thread on this house too! It always stuck with me as I remember the “dance floor” on the floor plan 😂

IIRC there were a lot of architectural aficionados on the last thread that appreciated this was a design of its time but personally, I wouldn’t pay £1 million+ for Formica and a teeny-tiny kitchen.

I think a lot of the rooms feel like hallways. And agree it looks like a municipal building.

Gorgeous setting and lovely big windows though.

BondAway25 · 12/08/2025 04:15

How quickly can you pay the loan off?

BreakingBroken · 12/08/2025 05:48

i forwarded it to my son in law (of sorts) he's an architect and loved it.
was a bit worried about the listed status (although his current georgian is listed).

It looks like the sort of house a teen is alone in at the start of a slasher movie!!
