Hip to Gable loft conversion - internal finish on eaves storage

Hi all. We've just had our loft converted and although we've been really pleased so far with the building works, now we're compiling a snag list, I'm noticing a few things that I'm not sure about. Having never had a loft done, I'm not sure if it's normal or not. When I went into the eaves storage area at the front, apart from finding an empty water bottle, coffee cup and various crap just abandoned in there, the 'side' wall where they've done the hip to gable looks unfinished to me. It's literally just the exterior ply that the hanging tiles are nailed to, and loads of nails sticking out like some tortue chamber. There's no insulation at all at that end? Anyone who has had this done can you tell me if this is normal? Obviously we'll take it up with the builders, but I want to be forearmed if they try and excuse this!!!
