Hello,

Can anyone recommend a UK based company to ensure a European property? Usually use a local firm but we have to do it in a certain timeframe which isn't always practical.

Have a look at Home Protect, they may insure overseas.

I have used them for a number of years, not the cheapest but found communication and transparency to be great, also had to claim for a accident, the tradesman was here within 30 mins, perfect outcome (but yet to see how it will affect my policy next year)

Do you have a mortgage on it or a local bank account? Usually the bank can help with insurance.

otherwise a large in country firm can usually insure straight away. Ie Uniqa

ChatGpt came up with loads. You might need to phone a few as their conditions differ. Eg my holiday home ins require someone sleep in it at least once every two months. Some ins companies prefer monthly.

No mortgage, yes to foreign bank account. Used the same insurance company for decades but would be handy if I could do it from here rather than there.
