When to cancel building’s insurance

The property is empty and has vacant property insurance on it. I’ve been trying to find out what to do, regarding the cancellation of the policy.

The property has sold, we exchange contracts next week with a completion TBA.

From what I’ve read, the buyers are responsible for buildings’ insurance from exchange, so does anyone know when I should cancel?

I wouldn't cancel before completion myself, belt and braces.

I’ve read that a new policy invalidates the first one.
