I have received a quote but it’s a lot more than I expected .
Its for 45 sq of Amtico flooring ( plus 3 sq wastage) take away old laminate and carpet
install 6mm ply and fibre Reinforced latex to level and install floor .
quote is £6000 .
Is this a reasonable quote ? I’m in Greater London .

That’s about right. It’s expensive!

That sounds about right. However I really wouldn’t recommend it. We had amtico spacia sun bleached oak laid last year, and I hate it. The texture just traps dirt, which is impossible to clean without getting on your hands and knees and scrubbing with a stiff brush. If that’s a concern for you (appreciate it may not be) then have a google and you’ll see many more discussions on the same topic.

we spent £10k on ours and I wish we’d had something else.

@Minkyscamp thanks for the warning . That would drive me nuts !.

I’m not sure which Amtico we had as it came with the house, but it annoyed me over time. It faded in patches and it never looked really clean to me.

We have Amtico Spacia in a stone format. Very roughly, that quote sounds in the right ballpark to me - we were covering a much smaller area 2 years ago.

We really like ours. I have noticed a couple of scratches, and I agree with others that you do sometimes have to scrub persistent marks. But we have a cat and two kids, and it’s bearing up well.

I’ve got Amtico American Oak in the kitchen. It was laid in 2012, its looks as good as the day it was laid. If you decide to have Amtico get a recommended fitter from Amtico.
