Looking for some kitchen inspiration! We moved in to our house last year and are finally at the stage of re-doing the kitchen. We are considering opening up the wall where the hatch is to make a bigger space to create a family room - kitchen, living and dining. We would put a wall up in the current living room to make a snug and all for some separation. I just can't come up with a design of how it might look or visualise the space so looking for feedback/ideas of what people think or how it might be turned into a brighter, more modern space. Thank you!

what Rooms do you want to end up with? Kitchen/snug/utility/study?

We would like to end up with a snug (current living room), office and then the back of the house be kitchen/dining/living with a utility if possible.

Hi! The kitchen in the middle doesnt work as it would be a corridor.

Here's what I would do. Put laundry in hall cupboard by loos. Get rid of other hallway cupboard.

Move kitchen to current dining, with a window, put double doors where current kitchen window is. Put dining in here if it fits without being in way too much.

Snug on right. You could swap kitchen yo right side if that suits better, or swap dining/snug around to find a layout that suits.

W = window
Dd = double doors
L= laundry
K = kitchen
D = dining room

Can't give you any actual advice, because you need to take so many things under consideration while making final decisions, but here is a kitchen design software that might be helpful at the planning stage. You can make a 3d model of the kitchen and move things around and play with colors and textures to see which combination you like the most.

I would never put in a snug. Just a smallish space and not versatile. I’d have the whole of the back of the house as utility at the back of the loo and accessed by a new door snd get a window for it. Then the whole back of the house would be kitchen and dining with one end to have seating and tv. You have an office at the front and I’m assuming you don’t need this room as a bedroom. A utility (or laundry room) is vital in my view.
