Re-posting in a more relevant category- sorry still new to mumsnet

Just that really, we're in the process of buying a place that needs modernising and updating. The finances means that we can't do everything at once.
Looking for advice/ any clever tips and tricks that you've have perfected over the years/

Please be very considerate of your neighbours. Communucate frequently, let them know if it's going to he unavoidably noisy, manage your contractors properly and apologise. Just be very thoughtful.

Yep...I live next door to a doer upper. So far we've had 3 months of hell with at least the same again to come. Owner does not live there, so she cares rather less. We've had workmen doing very noisy work ( ceiling pulled down drilling on party walls, removal of walls) from 7.30am to 7.30pm. Scaffolders damaging plants, oversailing massively without permission, shouting, sweary roofers, parking issues....

And at the weekends the owner shows up and does her own diy, so it's 7 days a week.

I think you can see how much this has negatively affected my quality of life. Other neighbours have also complained, so I'm.not just a curmudgeon.
