Kitchen ceiling being partially removed

As per the title part of my kitchen ceiling is being removed so that a leaky heating pipe can be found and hopefully repaired.

How much mess should I expect? It’s quite a small kitchen so should I clear all the surfaces?

Do you know what your ceiling is made of? I would clear the surfaces as it will be messy.

Thank you both. I’m not sure what the ceiling is made of but will clear all the surfaces to be safe. I’m hoping they find the leak quickly and don’t have to keep taking more down…

Definitely clear everything and seal the drawers/cupboards with masking tape unless they fit perfectly. And keep the kitchen door shut during the process and for an hour afterwards while the dust settles.
