Converting garage to gym

Has anyone converted their garage into a gym? If so, what did this involve and cost? I was thinking the walls need boarding and runner flooring needs to be added but I really have no idea. Any tips much appreciated.

Can be as simple as you want it to be. I just put some cheap amazon flooring down and then put in equipment, some bought new, some on marketplace

We did this, like pp it’s basically as cheap or expensive as you want, we removed the garage door and got a wall put in, rubber gym tiles on the floor and then just the equipment, the walls are still unfinished.

If I had a garage I would definitely do it!

We’ve recently turned half our double garage into a gym/home office. We put a sliding patio door in the side which cost about £2000, DH did most of the interior work but plastering was professionally done. With decorating and flooring it came in around £4,500. We could have spent much more but probably not much less for what we wanted the room to be used for.

Sorry for the delayed response. Some fantastic tips, thank you. There seems to be so many different ways to do it. I think we want to board the garage and put a rubber floor in so will get some quotes to see if it is viable.
