Just wondered if anyone on here has used Kitchens Direct? We're looking around for a supplier at the moment and would really appreciate any feedback.

Thank you.

AVOID
seriously. had kitchen done by them 2 years ago. awful job/finish and once they have ur money, service is godawful. and they're overpriced. google them to see other peeps reviews of them.
don't want to go into details as it will set me off.
save ur sanity and go with someone else.

I looked at them and did a bit of research, the reviews were awful. We had one of their "designers" round who was such a hard core sales guy and proceeded to stay for 2 hours and didn't ask us any questions at all. He also tried to put pressure on us to place an order before their "sale" ended.

We used Johnson's buildbase for the supply, found our own local fitter and brought the appliances from the internet. It all worked really well and came in under the KD quote.

My mum and dad had an absolute nightmare with Kitchens Direct.

I think I saw something about them on Watchdog a few years ago.

Don't touch them with a bargepole.

We got our kitchen from MFI (a Schreiber one) and had it fitted by an independent chap. It was lovely and as they had one of their permanent sales on it worked out good value.

our house was a re furb when we bought it 9 years ago, we have one and its falling to bits , started about 3 years ago, its very cheap looking, cant wait t get rid.

Thanks everyone - this has given me something to think about! We have a designer coming this week, at least I'll now be prepared for the hard sell. I'm going to practice my hard stare and arms-folded stance in preparation.

Good luck and don't be bullied. I'd be interested to know if he turns up and starts showing you brochures and talking about the quality of the units before he even asks you anything about what you want from your kitchen! Not sure if you have a buildbase where you are but I can't recommend them highly enough.
