When do I give the estate agents the house keys

Due to be completing today on my house sale, never done this before so not sure how it’s works. Do I just go to the estate agents this morning and give them the keys ? Should I wait until confirmation my solicitor has the funds ? Do I wait until I have the funds in my bank account ?

Give the estate agent the keys as soon as you’ve moved out. Your solicitor will ring them to say they can give them to your buyer as soon as the money arrives in the law firm’s account.

Okay. Thank you. Wasn’t sure if I should be holding onto them until I know the funds have been transferred…
Another thing, how long can I expect the funds to hit my account from the solicitors ?

When we sold but didn't buy, the solicitor had 2 options for the money. They would send up a cheque for free, or we could pay £20 and they would send the money by CHAPS. We paid, and had the money on the day the house sold.

They may be able to send it via faster payments for free. Different banks have different limits, but under 250k they'll almost all do it, and some will go up to 1m.
