Can getting a new kitchen make you cook more?

I used to cook all the time but moved when heavily pregnant into a house with a badly laid out kitchen. Since I moved, which is also essentially since I had a baby (now a 10 year old) I've cooked loads less.

We're now moving house to a place with a better kitchen layout/nicer kitchen and I'm wondering if my cooking spark will recover.

Does anyone have any experience of this? Is it wishful thinking?

Quite the opposite. If you have a shiny new kitchen you won’t want to make it dirty by using it!

Yes. I love using my shiny new kitchen, then returning it to pristine afterwards.

No.

Yes a new workspace/kitchen can really bring back the motivation or inspiration to cook. It's like having a new lease in life- type thing. That doesn't mean it will last long. Lol

Speaking from experience.

Definitely. When we'd fitted our new kitchen at our previous house I started baking, something I'd never been tempted to do before. Now we've bought another project house I've completely given up although that might be down to not having a kitchen at all right now

The kitchen we inherited when we bought this house was disgusting (the original mid 1960s one), so we survived using two airfryers and a microwave for the first six months. Now we've ripped it out progressed to a camping stove, so I can't wait for the kitchen to be finished as both OH and I will certainly cook more on our shiny reconditioned lacanche range!

I don't care about making it dirty - I'd be happy to. Our current kitchen is functional, just a weird layout and a dark room.

@LibertyLily we're also getting a lacanche!
