Best way to remove paint from brickwork

Hi, My son helped me in the garden last year and painted the garden gate. He was careless and put paint onto the adjacent brick wall. I bought some NitraMors but that wasnt effective.

Does anyone have any good suggestions for paint removal from bricks? Thanks!

as you have discovered, thanks to the eco freaks, nitromors and nearly all consumer level paint "strippers" are now about as effective as washing up liquid.

I will suggest the method that will work, but as a one off the cost of this is prohibitive - use a grit blaster with a suitable "soft" grit to avoid etching the brickwork: ie. crushed glass or soda lime

The alternative would be to use a water pressure washer with (or without) a blasting media introduced into the water stream

What sort of paint was it?

Gloss? Water based, or white spirit?

Are there smudges of paint, or drips and dribbles?
