Grey carpet & cream/beige sofa?

Just waiting on moving into a new build and we have grey carpets laid.

I had my heart set on a beige sofa?

I am struggling to see the vision of these working together?

Anybody have this combo? Does it work?

For a corporate office?

I think it can work - a Google of beige and grey living rooms brought lots of images up of the 2 working together.

Grey is quite a cold and uninviting colour but as the poster above said get a nice neutral rug to tie in with your settee

We have the opposite - creamy beige carpets and grey sofas. We’ve put beige, red and orange cushions on the sofas and added pops of colour around the room in the way of art, vases and plant pots.
It works well.

It will work if the tone of them are the same. Cool and cool or warm on warm

We have a grey carpet in our living room from the previous owners and I hate it. It’s very cold. I have dark charcoal sofas so it looks a bit grey on grey too. Was going to change it this spring but I’m getting a puppy next month so thought I’d wait till toilet training is over and we’ve lived with it for 3 yrs already so six months longer won’t hurt. I want an oatmeal coloured carpet (obviously dog will only be in there supervised as we only use this room in the evenings).

Is there any way you can ask for a different colour in your new house or is it there already? I can see what you mean about grey carpets and a beige sofa. Grey can be a cold hard colour, whereas I’ve always been drawn to warmer more natural tones for carpets.

Thank you, it’s already down and part of the deal so ideally didn’t want to change it just yet.

I have ordered some sofa sample materials to see if that helps with the decision
