Kitchen update - tradesman frustration

Hi all - wondering whether I’m doing something wrong but seeing if I can get advice

i moved into my house over a year ago and am making enhancements to certain things

one of the things I’m looking is replacing the ktichen worktop. Sink. And splash back etc. I’m also looking for someone to remove, install etc. so not having to find / do different bits myself.

im trying to find a tradesman to quote for it but all I get is

  1. no response
  2. some that come out but end up ghosting me
  3. some that only do quartz but not compact laminate
  4. some will install only

Been contacting people on checkatrade - what am I doing wrong ??

or is my job so small that no one wants it unless I replace my whole kitchen?

any advice greatly appreciated

Yeah small, non-easy, jobs are a pain to get done. Maybe you could try contacting the places that sell the replacement worktop you're thinking about getting and ask if they could recommend an installer?

My kitchen update was small - new sink, taps, worktop, cupboard - it was completed earlier this month.

Overall, I wouldn't say I found it easy but I wouldn't say I found it difficult either to source a tradesperson but I live in the Midlands so there were quite a few who covered the area.

I eventually found someone from the Trust a Trader website.
