Never had this before!

Apologies, but I rent from LHA and I’ve just received a letter saying they want to do a check round the home, ensure they hold correct info for all living there etc. is this normal? I’ve lived here 14 years and never had a visit before.
I called to rearrange the visit as it’s too short notice and asked if she would be needing to see the back garden as I have an unfriendly to strangers bulldog and she says she needs to see what “state” it’s in, am I being paranoid or have my neighbours possibly reported me?
If someone could possibly answer this as it’s ratcheted my anxiety right up!

This is completely normal and nothing to worry about. It’s a good time to raise any maintenance issues too.

Depends on the landlord/HA but yes can happen. We had notice for this once so we cleaned the house from top to bottom and the letting agent basically poked their head in, gave a couple of rooms a cursory glance and said it was fine.
