Replacing a shower rail & slider

HI! I'm trying to replace my shower rail & riser, but I can't seem to remove the little panels covering the screws. I've tried using a very fine flat-headed screwdriver to lever them out, but it's not working! The riser has snapped off completely & the rail looks like it's rusting, so the whole thing definitely needs replacing. Any tips or suggestions?

Can you post a picture?

If you mean the slidy rail the shower head connects to, it can be hard.

Myabe spray the cap with WD40 and leave overnight, or try heating it up gently with a hot air gun.

When I replaced mine the problem was I tried to removed the screw and the head sheared off because it was so corroded. Then I had to hacksaw in a new screw thread on the stalk to then get it out. Not my finest hour.

Could you drill through the cap? Preferably with a hand drill so that you don't go onto the screw behind and drill off the head. Although if it is rusted you might need to drill out the screw too.
