Garden sofa - where to buy?

Anywhere other than the usual to buy a garden sofa? I could be wrong but aren’t they all out of the same factory in China? - yet some are £400, some are £2,000.

We’re looking for something modular or L-shaped and a bit deeper then the usual. Soft cushions so we can chill. Looking at B&Q later. Don’t want Habitat as we can’t see it in store anymore sadly.

whats your budget?

I've had a £300 Aldi one, and it lasted a couple of summers before the cushions were flat and the whole thing looked tired/cheap. Now have a £2000 garden centre one and it's on year 4 looking and feeling like new. You get what you pay for as with all furniture IMO.

Our L-shape garden sofa came from FeatureDeco in 2022. We bought it at end of season when it was on sale (retail price was £1600 and we paid just under £1k). It's a fairly unusual design (we didn't want one that looked like everyone else's) and quite large, but the main reason we chose it was the 16cm deep seat cushions which no-one else offered at the time. Still looks like new almost three years on.

I'd also highly recommend Gloster, although they are £££. We bought their Havana (iirc) garden table and chairs set in 2015 and whilst it cost in excess of £3000, it has worn incredibly well, considering we've never covered it in Winter.

Ours is from Made.com and have been very happy with it - although since we got it the company has gone under and been resurrected so no idea if it’s still the same quality.

La Redoute has good garden furniture for not too much

They’re definitely not all out of the same factory…Confused There’s everything from plastic “rattan” to solid teak out there

Storynanny1 · 15/06/2025 16:57

my modular was from Rattan direct, lasted nearly ten years. Just ordered a similar replacement from them.

Storynanny1 · 15/06/2025 16:58

To be honest the only difference I can see between the higher prices and the cheaper ones is the thickness of the cushion seats and backrests

JYSK have bargains at the moment.

Cox & Cox.

Mine are from Hayes Garden World (Bramblecrest) brand and John Lewis - Dante - now 12 years old and in perfect condition.

Nourishinghandcream · 15/06/2025 17:16

Ours is from Garden furniture.co.uk

Being online and nowhere near their showroom we could not check it out first but we are very pleased with it.
Well made, very comfortable, stylish and should last for years.

We spent £1500 on a set from John Lewis, and despite being carefully stored over winter, it looked and felt really tatty and shabby. Not impressed!

Moda furnishings

SandDunesAndSaltyAir · 15/06/2025 20:04

We bought our Kettler corner sofa and table from John Lewis in 2000. It’s been outside since then and still looks brand new. Not cheap but 100% worth it.

StrawberryThief1930 · 15/06/2025 20:07

ours is bramblecrest too. ours is only 2 years old (still looks new, left out all winter). a world away from previous b&q sets ive had. cost about 3k. previously spent about £400 at b&q.

These guys are epic.

We bought a sofa, chair & table on clearance a couple of years ago. It’s still in perfect condition and feels so comfortable, deep seats, very thick cushions, similar to luxury hotel furniture.

I liked it so much we’ve recently bought a smaller set for another part of the garden. Highly recommend.

I also recommend Moda Furnishings. Had L Shapes sofa and loungers and all fab after years of use.

IJWMM · 17/06/2025 01:31

I went for an outdoor fabric set from Maze Living. No need to rush to get cushions in when it rains, frame is aluminium so doesn’t rust. Haven’t covered it in winter (that’s me being lazy). Very happy with it.
