Bathroom lighting problems

I have a couple of bathroom light problems, does anyone have any advice?

In the bathroom does a single drop pendant
provide enough light? All the Pinterest posts show lovely bathrooms with a single pendant but I’ve gone down a lumen rabbit whole which suggests a single pendant wouldn’t provide the light I need for a bathroom.

Also I wanted some wall lights, but not to be on the same switch as the main light which means I have to have a switch outside the bathroom rather than a pull cord. Unfortunately there is wall close enough to put a switch on - it would be a metre away. An alternative is to have pull cord wall lights but the choice seems to be limited - the ones without pull cords are much prettier! Any suggestions on how I can resolve this one please?

I have spots over the shower and floor/sink/toilet and one single ceiling light over the bath. The over bath light is light enough but I don’t think I’d want it as my only light. I use it in the night so I don’t blind myself with the spots. I wanted a reading light over the bath, like a wall light but we didn’t have a suitable wall. They are all controlled, and the fan, from a 3 switch on the outside wall by the door.

Yes, I think two options. The first it to get a multi bulb pendent. Just has to be IP rated, and I’d recommend opal glass so it isn’t glaring, unless you have a dimmer switch.

The other option is an architrave switch, and you can get this in dimmer or normal toggle. If you have an architrave around that door

Thanks! I love the idea of an architrave switch - I didn’t think of that. Going to check now if there is space..
