Blinds for sliding doors

Hello! I am looking to get new sliding doors in my kitchen to replace some older bi-folds. Does anyone have any advice for what the best window dressing would be? I do want something as I don’t like the expanse of black at night, and I am not keen on curtains in this case. ideally something that doesn’t take up too much space as the whole point is to maximise light. I am trying to research the integrated blinds - does anyone have any experience of those? Thank you!

Hopeful bump

We used to have the integrated blinds that work well, however I did always worry about what would happen if they went wrong. TBF they are still going strong (we now rent out the house) at least 6 years on.

Now thinking about renovations for current home and have the same dilemma

Not integrated but these are an option

Alternatively there’s smart film which switches between clear and opaque https://www.adswindowfilms.co.uk/smart-window-film/Smart Window Film Supplier | ADS Window Films Plymouth

We have vertical blinds on our sliding doors and I love them. This is not my room, but it looks like this (photo attached)

Thank you everyone! I think I will give integrated blinds a miss as worry about ‘future-proofing’ re any malfunctions / desire to change the colour/style of the blinds within. I think a roller blind may be the best option for me. I have vertical blinds on my current (outgoing) bifolds which have done the job well but they do block a lot of light in my case as half of one panel is obscured by them when they are folded back.

I know you said not curtains but what about sheer linen voile with a wave heading. Nothing like traditional curtains but works well for sliders I think. This sort of thing

Alternative idea: we have installed some garden lighting to avoid the “wall of black” effect.
