Stair gate dilemma!

No idea if this is in the right category…

below is a photo of the top of our stairs… I need a stair gate fitting but have no idea how to do that 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️.

anyone had experience of this?

How strong are fittings of the glass side piece? If an adult pushes it or falls against it heavily does it stay totally rigid? If so then any pressure-fitting stairgate eg www.argos.co.uk/product/3798742 would be fine.

You could make a u shaped price of wood which slots over the glass banister to protect the glass and then have a wall mounted gate attached to the wall which closes against the protective wood and have a catch on the wood to close it.
