Replacing mirrored sliding cupboard doors

Both bedrooms in my house have large built in wardrobes with 80s/90s style mirrored sliding doors.

I'm looking to replace these but can't decide if I should take the easy option and go for non-mirrored sliding door panels, or do something a bit different. There's not much space for doors that open out in my bedroom, but it would be an option in the spare room.

I wouldn't be replacing any of the shelving or rails inside the cupboard, just the doors.

Any advice or ideas?

My friend has these on one wall. Painted the outsides black, put frosted window film on them and then added black electrical tape on the top to make them look like crittal windows. It has taken years off their look and she’s so pleased as they didn’t have room for opening doors either.

I didn't realise that mirror sliding doors were a dated look? I thought just practical sometimes to have sliding doors and mirrors make room look bigger.

Thanks for responses. It's more that the doors/tracks have seen better days (they get jammed quite often in the spare room), rather than the overall look being dated.
Thank you for the makeover ideas @FreshPrinceofKildare some of them look great!
