Cupboard Doors - how much to supply and fit?

I have a weird space off my hall that has some open storage which I would like to make look neater. I need to get 7 cupboard doors made (each approx 2.4high and 50 cm wide) and fitted. I’ve had one quote from a carpenter which was £5k to make and fit the doors (MDF). It would be an additional £2k to have the doors painted (if I supply paint). There are no carcasses to build - just the frames and the doors. DH thinks this is too expensive and we should see if we can get some doors “off the shelf” and get a carpenter to fit them…. (1) I was just looking for a sanity check on whether this is a reasonable price, in which case I won’t waste my time with getting more quotes and (2) of this is the going rate for “bespoke carpentry” then perhaps you wonderful mumsnetters can direct me towards some potential “off the shelf” solutions. TIA

Google for made to measure doors.

There are a number of companies that do them for things like under stairs cupboards.

A business that is set up to produce these things en mass is going to be a lot cheaper than a carpenter on a one off job.

Try posting a photo of your space on the Ikea hacks and tips fb group. They give good suggestions for what to do with awkward spaces and not just Ikea furniture.

There are companies on eBay that supply the kind of doors you would probably want (like mdf shaker doors) in various sizes.
