Bottom of chain about to disappear!

Just on here for a rant really. We accepted an offer on our house mid Feb and found our onward purchase at the beginning of April. A complete chain at that point so we thought it was all systems go. Our buyer did their mortgage application and had the valuation survey done, all fine and so we presumed things were moving. After a lot of chasing it seems that nothing has moved with their solicitor and we’re getting conflicting messages as to where the problem lies. Our solicitor sent over the pack etc very quickly so this is quite worrying. Our EA has been frantically chasing and agrees it’s ultimatum time but I’m so pissed off. Now need to spend the weekend getting the house up to scratch again and risk we will lose our purchase which took ages to find! Aaaaaah!!!!

I feel your pain, I really do! We had this happen and we very naively let them string us along for almost 3 months with nothing happening! Then lost a second buyer who over committed and now dealing with a third who would know urgency if it bit him on the bum!

I just don’t understand why you would behave that way, it’s really crappy and presumably a waste of your own time and money. Anyway they’ve got until tomorrow afternoon but I’m
doubtful anything meaningful can be achieved by then. They are FTB as well and you’d think they would be chomping at the bit to get it done.

Honestly the whole buying and selling process is so bloody stressful.

We accepted an offer on ours after 7 months on the market with sporadic interest. Found somewhere ourselves really quickly, as did our sellers, but the ones above them are literally taking forever to find a place. The people at the bottom of the chain are desperate to get this going and are getting impatient. We thought we were almost there and now they are viewing more properties next week. It feels like we will never be ready to get this sale properly underway. We are seriously in danger of the bottom falling out of the chain before this has even had chance to get going.

It's difficult because you just feel so out of control. Literally your fate and the fate of your purchase, and sale, depends entirely on someone else 'playing ball' and not taking the piss and on other people not being unreasonable and impatient. Its all our of your hands!

I have said it before, and I will say it again, its a stupid long drawn out crappy system!!!

A client is going into rental for 6 months rather than lose their buyer due to someone further up the chain having no idea that they are causing all sorts of stress lower down!
