One or two baths?

We are about to redo our en-suite and main bathroom. Both similar size but different shapes.

We are struggling to fit a bath and shower in the main bathroom. We considering only having a bath in the en-suite (we’ll also have a shower in that room).

We don’t plan on staying here long term. Would only having a bath in the en-suite put you off in a family home?

To summarise, the house has four bedrooms and we also have a further en-suite shower room that we aren’t tackling. Which means we’d have:
Main bathroom - separate shower, no bath
Large en-suite - separate shower, separate bath
Small en-suite - shower, no bath

Thank you

Personally no it wouldn't and I have young children. Providing there was a bath somewhere that would be fine. I think as they get older more showers would be better anyway.

It might be more attractive to have the bath in the main ( family) bathroom that is used by the rest of the household rather than in an en suite. But maybe it doesn’t really matter as long as you have one in the house. It’s good to have a bath as well as showers.

Three bathrooms in a 4 bed house will probably be attractive in and of itself. Not to me because I don’t enjoy cleaning showers - so awkward. I would only want two bathrooms upstairs and a downstairs toilet but I might be weird.

Thank you. That was my thinking too but my DH doesn’t agree! I’m already finding as our kids get older showers are rare.

Thank you. Good to have another vote for one bath!

I agree with you on the showers. We all currently use the same one so we only have to clean one. Which is probably silly. I imagine that will change when we have nice new bathrooms to use.

It wouldn't be a total deal breaker for me, but I would find it irritating. I occasionally have a bath, but mainly use the bathtub for my children, so would much rather have the only bath (which I use twice a day) in the family bathroom.

We have this arrangement and it was fine when the DC were young but it really doesn't work for us now that they are teens. We all like having baths though.

That’s interesting as we’re not far off the teen years and I have three children. Perhaps three teenagers wanting to have a bath in my room wouldn’t be the best idea!
