“Air source heat pump”—any good.?issues? Benefits?any personal experience to share please?

Well you might find that you can reduce your bills by a reasonable amount if you go all electric.

Presumably you must already have a good tariff for the car.

But ultimately only you can work out if the reduction in the price of energy due to the tariff compensates for the extra cost of the install, plus the fact that you might need to site large bits of extra equipment that you don't need to currently.

Exactly- for a start somewhere for the heat pump to go. Then the water cylinder with all the piping needed.
A lot of additional equipment.

Yeah that's what it'll be. It's all the valves and controls for the ufh. Ours is fairly noisy but isn't near enough to the bedrooms to be a nuisance

Valves, controls and perhaps the heating pump? - though saying that the pump for our ufh is very quiet indeed. So it was possibly a very crap system (eg pump too small so slogging away too fast, pipes too narrow so too much resistance etc.)
