How much to breath new life into sofa?

I have a hand built sofa which needs new stuffing( not foam), and reupholstery. I have paid for the velvet already but wondered what I should now expect to pay. There are a several trades people who specialise in this but quotes seem to vary enormously. Anyone got any ideas?

Same for any trades, get referrals. Ideally from a regular user (ie: local antique shop).

Proper upholstery is expensive especially if it's not just a replace the foam type job. Get at least 3 quotes and check out their reviews etc. It's time consuming to do properly and everything needs to be fire retardant which makes materials more expensive too. Friend paid £1k to have a complicated chair reupholstered but it looks amazing.

We’ve recently had quotes of around 1k to reupholster our sofa. Decided we’d be better off just getting new ones! I realise it’s different though if it’s a piece you love.

I was just quoted £350 plus materials for a small post war lounge chair.
