Remortgage - wow, that was easy!!

Remortgaging my house as the fix comes to an end this year. Not taking any extra money. Called London and Country and did the over the phone disclosure on the Thursday, asked to send over a payslip which I did immediately. It was too early to put in a formal request, so had to wait until the Tuesday. He called me on the Tuesday with a final rate of 4.04%, I agreed and so the application was submitted. Had a text from the bank within a few hours saying rate had been saved and then had final agreement on the Friday morning!! No requests for anything other than my payslip, no valuation visit.

It was so easy that I rang L&C to check that it was actually the real offer and not an Agreement in Principle and was told that yes, it was.

It definitely wasn't that easy last time I applied to remortgage!!

That's great. I find things like that hang over you when you know they're coming and it's amazing when the reality is a relief. I stayed with my lender when it was my turn as they offered me a rate that no one else could beat so I know the feeling!

I'm actually hoping for a better rate in months to come but this will do for now! My lender won't give me a price for another 2 months.

Now the solicitor stuff needs sorting though!

What a great free advertisement for that provider!

Well I've not mentioned the provider so I'm not sure what the advert would be...

I found L&C very pushy and expensive! I managed to get a much cheaper deal using the free tools like money saving expert, compare the market etc. It was literally sorted in seconds! They still kept calling me trying to get me to take a more expensive deal, not sure if they were idiot or thought I was!!!

I did mine last month - monthly repayments are more (but that was inevitable as my previous rate was 1.9 % and now 4.3)
i stayed with the previous provider as most competitive and didn’t have to do affordability etc (earning less than I was previously )
Relieved , as are you ! I’ve done a 2 year fixed - hoping they will come down a bit more by then
