Viewing tomorrow!

Yay! Have got a viewing tomorrow which is great as it looks like our buyer (who has been delaying since about November) is unable to get a mortgage now....

Unfortunately the house is a tip and so I am desperately trying to tidy up with the two kids leaving a trail of toy carnage behind me!

Anyone else's sale stalled in this horrid selling climate?

Depending on DC doing school entrance exams next week and the outcome we'll be on the market next week!

Am thinking of putting on with two agents - one local and one national.

Ooh exciting Claricebeansmum! Get ready for all that primping of furnishings....

Oh god the tidying and cleaning. Am absolutely dreading it.

Can I ask, how long have you been on the market and where are you?

I have been on the market for ages now. We put the house on November 2006 but with a crap agent. We had a sale agreed and were getting all the paper work done and then our buyer found that he couldn't get a big enough mortgage so it all fell through (apparently he didn't realise that his bank wouldn't count a bonus as part of his regular income ) Anyway, after that we changed agents and had another offer from a different person in August of last year, they have been somewhat slow off the mark! They faffed about waiting for a better mortgage deal and of course now the mortgage market has gone demented and so far they don't seem able to get one - so it looks like I'm back to square one.
I'm near Chester btw.

ooh I can empathise!! Have 4 children under 6 leaving a trail of destruction and its not easy to farm them out when viewers come round so we have to bribe them to be quiet!

we've beenon the market for nearly 18 months (did come off for a short break while I gave birth, as you do!!) but have had a few offers that were a fair bit off the mark.

current buyers have an offer on one of their houses but not on the other and the offer they do have is not proceedable.

stressful isn't it?!!

OMG - we are moving to Chester RedFraggle!!

Tell me all about it - what is it like to live there? What are the nice parts of Chester? Is there really no Waitrose there?!

Well viewing went well - fingers crossed!

claricebeansmum I am on the Wirral peninsula which is about 15 miles from Chester. It is a lovely area. Chester itself is gorgeous and there are lots of lovely areas nearby. My friend lives in Upton which is very nice. Around Bache is lovely and Hoole is nice too...

Scarlettskye, I only have 2 children wreaking havoc, don't know how you manage with more than that!! It is very stressful - wish we'd moved a few years back now as the current climate is not conducive to a rapid move is it?
