If you couldn't sell your house would you rent it out?

I am looking to rent when I move back to the Uk in August. Obviously with house price instability I am not going to buy for a few years.

I have seen a few houses for sale on rightmove that have been on for some time they look as if they have been vacated in the pictures and I wondered if it was worth approaching to see if they would be interested in renting. ( but then I think wouldn't they have done it already.

MamaG are you saying you couldn't afford to rent it out so would stay put until it sold?

I supoose people that bought a while ago could cope with renting as it would still cover the mortgage but if you bought in the last few years its probably not viable.

It is also worth looking on rightmove rentals as many houses are listed in both sections.

Yes you are right and I have looked but there are some even nicer houses that are not listed for rent and may just not be selling because of the curent climate.
