Where to buy nice internal doors??

We moved into a new home and all the doors need replacing. Im struggling to find a vendor that sells a broad variety of doors. Not b&q, wickes etc. Hoping to find an actual door specialist. So much ugly plastic & mdf / woodchip with veneer or laminate out there. I’d love to go to a shop that has lots of choice, not online, incl. solid wood or glass. Surrey or Sussex ideally. Any suggestions? Xx

It’s hard to find doors! I needed specific sizes which then still needed some adjustment of course.

I bought ours from Todd’s doors. They’re very good quality and bloody heavy! Bought the hinges there too but bought the knobs and latches from a local hardware shop.

Just to mention that we had some of the doors hung the other way round so they opened into
the room im a different way, beacuse of this we also needed some stoppers so as not to damage the walls.

Just to add that I bought them online and didn’t see them first!

Thanks so much! Ours also open the wrong way round.. apparently in old houses they open into the room, rather than into the wall, giving people more privacy in the room. Annoying because you have switch hinges & light switches!

Yes the light switch thing is annoying but you get used to it 😂

Also, check with your carpenter how many hinges for each door.

I bought mine from Climadoor and had them professionally fitted. They came with free hardware but I chose an alternative, so that was extra. My fitter was really helpful with suggestions, such as having one door semi-glazed and raising the height of all the handles. He also suggested changing the hinge side on one door (which we didn't do in the end). The new doors have made a huge difference to the property.
