How much do new windows cost these days?

Something we really need, but I’ve no idea on cost. Was thinking about getting the front ones done only, as they get the harshest weather. That would be one bay window, and 4 average windows.

Had ours done 2 years ago, small terraced house. 2 bay windows and 3 smaller windows that open out from the bottom, awning casement I think they are called. Was £4k plus vat, local independent company. Upvc. Had a few quotes and they all said not worth paying for triple glazing as it’s not a huge amount of difference.

Having just had a quote on Friday I'm astounded by how prices have escalated.

3 normal upvc fitted £4k
Whole house..small 3 bed £12k

This was with a local but quite large firm.
