We are looking to move out of London. We need the following...

-4-5 bedrooms
-reasonable sized garden

  • walking distance to train which goes direct to London in less than 50mins or somewhere easily commutable direct to Canary Wharf (would love semi rural but being realistic as know we need to be near a station aswell and the 2 don't go that well together)
-good schools junior and senior

I need to be able to buy a 4-5bed house for less than £450K

HEEEEEELPPPP

I can't find anywhere that fits the bill...

MissingMyHeels · 30/04/2008 18:50

Epsom/Ewell - Waterloo in 30mins and then Jubilee to Canary Wharf. Like this?

Sam100 · 30/04/2008 18:51

Try Loughton in Milton Keynes - can walk to the station past the horses in the equestrian centre!

Look at this for example.

here

Sam100 · 30/04/2008 18:53

ps - know over £450k on the details but these lot over price so could easily negotiate down!!

RubySlippers · 30/04/2008 18:55

i've said it before (on that thread The Blonde linked to) but Essex is great!

Good rail connections into London and plenty of green spaces

you can try Loughton in Essex too - on the Central Line (also Buckhurst Hill/Theydon Bois)

Epping is very nice and literally on the Forest

Harlow is perhaps pushing it, but 50 mins into liverpool street IIRC

Ruthiebabes · 30/04/2008 19:32

We live on the borders of Kings Langley and Abbots Lanley in Herts. 30 mins to Euston. Nice villages with good primary and secondary schools. Near to St Albans, lovely for a day out.

1dilemma · 01/05/2008 01:36

Beetroot, initially I was stunned you can get all that house for £450K!!
It does look lovely.
This thread has yet again left me thinking what are we doing in London?

Beetroot · 01/05/2008 06:53

used to live on kent/Sussex borders so know Frant well, is very nice village and there are a great range of schools round there too.

Daisysmiles · 01/05/2008 13:32

Wow the one in Frant looks GORGEOUS.... exactly what I had in mind. Found some lovely ones around Tunbridge wells too..not ever been there so will have to go and have a nosey .

Thanks so much for the ideas. Has given me somewhere to start
