Hi

First time buyer here, does anyone have any experience or recommend a good home buyer protection insurance?

Ive heard horror stories, i dont want to lose all the solicitor/surveyor fees if seller backs out or surveyor finds something wrong.

Thank you kindly

wish I had known about this. Protects sellers too? We are on our third set, and budget is scaring them

My conveyancers offered an option via homebuyers alliance that was about £60 and covered up to 180 days from MOS, there are longer policies you can take out eg in case it’s a leasehold or more complex sale and they’re about £100 for a full year. I thankfully didn’t have to use it. I knew such a thing existed as a friend had it and when her first house purchase collapsed it saved her being near £2k out of pocket.
In the grand scheme of things the £100 or whatever was absolutely worth it for the peace of mind - another thread on here tonight has someone’s vendor pulling out with 30 minutes notice and they’re down £5k in fees etc.
