Howdens fitted wardrobes - price?

Has anyone had a quote from Howdens for fitted wardrobes?

We planned to fit Pax in our bedroom but alcoves but one is an inconvenient size (143cm wide). I’ve looked at the Howdens unit and they do a 100cm & 140cm which I could just about squeeze in there but I have no idea of the costs!

I don’t know want to approach them to ask because, if it’s way more than Pax, we won’t use them. Has anyone used them and could give me a rough figure?

Alternatively, has anyone built off Pax to create shelves next to a wardrobe or have any words of wisdom on making your own customised solution?

Storage space is at a premium because we have no cupboards so I don’t want lose any if I can help it!

Can't say about Howdens but we bought fitted wardrobes from this place. You can get them in standard sizes or for slightly more made to measure in basically any size up to 1200mm https://www.larkandlarks.co.uk/fitted-bedrooms

I would personally say that a 100cm and 40cm in an alcove might not look quite right because they'd be asymmetrical. Personally I'd get a double and a single in a 2/3 and 1/3 combination of the width of the alcove (if that makes sense!) so that all the doors are the same size. So for your measurements a double that's 952mm and a single that's 476mm.

They are more expensive than Pax but IMHO having previously had Pax, they are better quality - solid backs rather than thin ply and the doors feel heavier and more substantial.
