What wall colour to go with lime green sofa?

Cannot find any inspiration online! Has anyone got similar?

Room is south facing but quite a dark room. Want some colour and for it to be cosy, but not too dark - and that doesn’t clash with the sofa 🙈

Honestly I'd go for something in a warm neutral and let the sofa do the talking- look at Dunhelm warm sand.

A pink might work if you pick one carefully.

Deipara · 18/09/2024 12:16

I was thinking a nice lighting pink

I’d get a throw for the sofa

In a dark room, I would go with a warm, creamy white, perhaps as dark as a medium sand colour.

@Muddysocks1 I could not live with that pink! It would be pale grey or white times for me. I found these on Houzz. Some are quite big rooms but cushions and curtains soften the lime. The subtle additions to the space make it quite classy!

A warm pale lemon

I want to know why on earth you bought a lime green sofa without thinking this through first?!

DaftyLass · 19/09/2024 03:02

Lavender

The colour of the box of matches a lime green sofa should be burned with 😀 sorry only joking but the mind boggles, can we see a photo. I expect it's really nice really. Liberty patterns wallpaper would work

TandyhatesAmanda · 19/09/2024 03:04

Ignore me, it's very early. Edited to try to make sense

Kittylickingplate · 19/09/2024 04:04

I was in a waiting room recently and there was a feature wall in deep burgundy red with lime sofas. The other walls were an pale oatmeal colour

MayaPinion · 19/09/2024 04:23

Treat the colour of the sofa as gold. Take your inspiration from a peacock. Not sure how true to life this image is, but you can see the gold/mustard and how well it goes with turquoises, blue navy, greens and tans. It might even be worth looking at wallpaper.

Brilliant white

It depends on your aesthetic. I like colour but not TOO much colour so I'd do a lime green couch but with something more muted like a grey or mud-grey and probably throw some orange or pink accent pieces around the room to balance out the green. If you want to go all out, go bright pink, blue or orange on the walls and go for a tropical look or ultra-bright modern look.

CellophaneFlower · 19/09/2024 05:56

What colours do you like? I think lime is far more versatile than a lot of people think and many colours would contrast lovely against it.

twentysevendresses · 19/09/2024 06:45

Use art work to get inspiration...find a painting that has lime green in it and see what other colours work with it in the painting. Here are a some examples so you can see what I mean.

I like dramatic colours so I'd go with a deep turquoise blue (like the peacock) but many colours would work.

Dusty pink

Obviously how you furnish the rest of the room will affect that choice too. I love the green. You can play on monochrome with different shades of green. A slightly darker, murkier olive would be fabulous, and decorate with bronzes, a dash of teal and wood. (Black and grey shades fit into this scheme nicely too.) Otherwise, purples look great with green, but again, I would ensure it's a slightly smoky version so that it doesn't hurt your eyes. Mustard yellow looks amazing with lime green, but it would be hard to live with on the walls, I think. Terracotta/Earthy shades with deep, forest green added will tone in well too. Then one of my favourites - which is dark and mysterious is a berry shade like cranberry or something akin to Clinique Black Honey - which is berry with brown. You can furnish with all kinds of earthy shades or bring out more jewel tones.

Inchyra blue.

Dulux Timeless then accessorise with other colours which can easily be changed.
