We are having a new kicthen done.
Fitters have been great so far. Whole room is being gutted so loads to do.
Estimate is 2 weeks. Today is the end of the first week.
So we naively assumed we would be left with a sink and a cooker over the weekend but no, just a washing machine. Obv they aren't working over the weekend. Does that sound about right in the time frame scheme of things?

ours took a couple of weeks I think the cooker was near the end tbh.

looks like takeaways for a bit longer then

worth it in the end

yes i guess I should just put up and shut up grin]

Just a bit sick of washing up in the bathroom sink and dcs can't really have takeaways (too small)

Started Monday 7.30am, worked daily til 6.30 pm with no stopping for lunch, and finished by Friday early afternoon. And that involved drilling up the floor, moving water and gas pipes etc.. but not tiling. That came later. Lithuanian fitters...... impressive work ethic.

2 weeks! I wish mine had been 2 weeks! What with flooring not being delivered and bits of the kitchen arriving 3 weeks after the first lot...its been a good month and a bit so far. I'M FED UP WITH IT.

Friendlypizzaeater · 23/04/2008 20:23

3 week but my bloke cobbled together a sort of working kitchen in the utility room so I was 1 day without them - even plumbed my washer in stood outside (it was a summers day and I got 4 loads done )

posieflump · 23/04/2008 20:24

we have no sink and no electricity in the kicthen at all - no cooker, hob

luckily microwave and fridge and kettle are in another room temporarily
