Looking for advice on moving to Sidcup/welling

Hello. We are looking to move from Greenwich to Sidcup/Welling to be closer to secondary schools. We have seen 3 properties: one in wellington avenue sidcup, one on days lane Sidcup and the third in bellgrove road welling. They all have things that work for us and some that don’t so fairly close in terms of what we think of them. We don’t know anything about Sidcup and a little about welling and I was wondering if anyone has any advice on these roads. Thanks in advance.

I'd take Sidcup over Welling any day. Welling is more than a little rough and for shops transport etc. comes off second best to Sidcup.

Do a search on here for Welling. Several recent threads. Would not recommend.

I grew up in that area. I know it has changed a lot in the last few years, but generally Sidcup was always a bit more desirable than Welling. Is the Days Lane one nearer to Blackfen or Sidcup? Again, Sidcup is generally more desirable than Blackfen. Are you thinking about Grammar schools? You can get to all of them pretty easily from Days Lane.

Sid up just about. Welling nope. Nor scabby wood and they have odd banding systems for secondary paired with grammar.

I would say Sidcup over Welling but those roads are closer to Blackfen which isn't really close to a rail station if you need it for work - good 20 min walk or a bus ride - and then further to the main high street in Sidcup

New restaurant and things popping up in Welling and a useful high street. Assume the house is towards the Shooters Hill end of Bellgrove Road but lots of buses around the high street for school travel.

Sidcup is nicer than Welling, but neither Wellington Avenue or Days Lane are Sidcup, they're Blackfen really. Blackfen is mostly fine, but not as desirable as being closer to Sidcup.

I'd much rather live on Days Lane or Wellington Avenue than Bellegrove Road, but as has been pointed out, neither are particularly close to a station if that's important, which it isn't for me.
