We’ve been talking about moving but on the edge…
dc 3 1/2 and 8 months

house 1: current. We like the area, the house has some challenges mainly around easy access to the garden and garden upkeep.
Far from A1m which would make life a lot easier. Have put a lot into decorating but not anything structural/building fabric.
lovely local village school we’d be very happy with and looked at while moving here
applying for schools next January
gorgeous rural views

house 2(as yet unknown) - basing this on a lot of Rightmove trawling. Aiming for the Harrogate/Ripon/boroughbridge corridor
closer to a1m, not as ‘interesting’ house but an easier layout
potential to slightly increase mortgage
probably still less rural given budget

husbands wfh, I am happy with different commute and it opens up alternative job possibilities for me.
he thinks new jobs first as they have potential to increase mortgage

Options are:
we could commit to here and put some money into challenges eg move kitchen and hire gardener
we could move quickly aiming before school applications but take a financial hit. - not ideal but doable
we could move but not worry too much about getting primary school, it’ll be fine…
