How do I do this? Regarding temporary change of address and mail redirection

Soon to complete on selling my property but new house won't be ready. So will move into rented for approx 4 to 6 months and then into new house when its ready.

My query is about change of address for this temporary period. If I was moving straight to new house I would have had Royal Mail redirect for a year.

But I don't want my mail redirected to somewhere I'm not going to be after perhaps 4 months. And would feel vulnerable at the possibility of my mail going to an empty rental when I move.

Can't get my head round how to deal with this.

Get a PO box.

Can you direct your mail to a relative's house or friend's house and collect it from them on a regular basis?

You can redirect for less than a year so perhaps do 6 months to your temp address, then a new redirection for 6months to your new house.

I'm also in this situation. As well as the redirect I'm thinking about the hassle of changing address on everything, and then changing again in 3 months time. I'm thinking therefore about only changing the essentials..? Good / bad idea???

The PO Box idea could work for the redirect though, thanks for that tip.
