How to brighten this dark room?

We've bought a house with a small rear extension for kitchen diner put on years ago - which extends the existing kitchen and dining room. It also has a lean to conservatory leading on from the extension to rear. All east facing. While the conservatory is a bright space the dining area is now dark. No plans to get rid of conservatory yet or replace with a proper extension.

Would putting velux skylights or sun tunnels in the extension bit brighten up the original dining room space? It has a slight pitched roof but I worry the rsj (which is quite low) would block any light from the sky light or sun tunnel into rest of room? Does anyone have any suggestions? The other side of the dining room is a wall covering the stairs and an under-stairs cupboard - runs through centre of house so can't be opened up that side. Photos attached.

Don't know about skylights but a massive mirror on the wall can make some differences as will reflect some light into the room, especially if there is a corner lamp next to it. You can get plugs with a remote on/ off switch so you don’t have to walk around dining tables to switch on. And can mount a light on a small corner shelf higher up.
I have a massive mirror in my small bathroom and was amazed how much bigger m/ lighter it looks.

Maybe try the Dulux light and space paints and a huge mirror before spending too much. Adding windows to the roof would definitely add more light- just a case of whether it is possible!
