Help to buy ISA query

Hello,

I just wanted to check something about the HTBs.

If for example myself and my partner have a combined total of £23,000 (£12,000 + £11,000) in our ISAs - with the government 25% bonus this would total £28,750.

The deposit + the solicitors = approx £25,000.

Would we get the remaining balance of £3,750 to use towards repairs of the house?

No, and if I remember correctly you can’t use it towards the solicitors fees either. It’s literally just for the deposit. We were almost caught out with that too. Our deposit was slightly higher than we needed it to be, when we could’ve used the funds for our renovation budget!
