single lever taps - cold water

We need to replace our kitchen mixer tap and the most suitable are single lever - we have only ever had double lever mixers with separate hot and cold. Can you still get just cold water out of the single lever ones? I mainly use the kitchen tap for cold drinking water! Thanks

Yes. I have to move the lever towards me for hot water and away from me to get cold water. And get varying hotness of water in the in-between positions

Ours is back for hot, forward for cold. And there’s a boiling water doodah on the other side.

Yes, ours is plumbed wrong though so it's back for cold and forward for hot. Same in the two bathroom sinks, we inherited them like that so who knows what the plumber was doing!

Yep. They will all have a fully hot or fully cold setting. Single levers are great because you can use them one handed, whether you're holding a baby or a pan in the other! Just get a decent one so the mechanism remains smooth.

Single taps are now my preference as you can get the temperature just right much easier than with single taps.

Thanks so much
