Chimney Cooker Hood woes

Hi there, I'm after some advice.

We recently moved into a property and the existing chimney cooker hood has stopped working.

I had someone from NAC (they fix appliances) attend and after having a look at the hood he stated the motor had gone but wasn't able to order a spare part as there's no way to ascertain the make of the chimney hood.

My other half ordered a new chimney hood and paid extra for installation however when the installers came round they stated they couldn't remove the old chimney hood and install the new one as the cabinet panels around the chimney hood had to be dismantled by a kitchen fitter then the new chimney hood could be reinstalled by the kitchen fitter.

I thought that an electrician or a builder (who can use a qualified electrician) can do this?

Any thoughts on how I can progress this as we really need some sort of ventilation in the kitchen as we often cook foods with spices.

I've added a picture of the defective chimney cooker hood so you have a better idea what I'm referring to.

Thanks in advance
