Move to Windsor/Ascot or Guildford?

Hi everyone. I'm considering a move to Windsor/Ascot or Guildford. I can't decide so I'd love to hear your thoughts. These are my specific concerns:

• Which area has better shopping and restaurants?
• Which area has better attractions like historic houses, gardens, museums etc
• Will the tourists in Windsor become annoying?
• How is the plane noise in Ascot?
• I need to drive into central London a few times a month so how would the commutes compare?

Windsor shopping is relatively limited but Staines, Slough and High Wycombe are not far . Would you consider train into London as both A3 and A30/A4 are congested.

Driving into central London would be hideous from either place but probably closer from Windsor. You could find out when the royals are commuting between their houses and tailgate them.
