Haywards Heath or Burgess Hill?

We currently live in London and are looking to move to either Haywards Heath or Burgess Hill. We've heard mixed opinions on both but want to decide which one to move to. Which one is nicer, has better schools etc?

Thank you.

I was driving through both today as I live close by in another village. I much preferred the feel of Hayward Heath! Lovely high street with a little shopping centre. Friendly feel.

I'd choose HH over BH.
It's a far nicer area. But BH does have a more to offer for things to do.
I don't know about the primary schools but there's only a couple of secondary schools.
BH is cheaper to buy in compared to HH.

Haywards Heath is much nicer than Burgess Hill.

I prefer Burgess Hill personally. It's cheaper and much friendlier imo.
Both are fine though.

I've lived in both within the last 10 years.

I much preferred living in Burgess Hill. I don't know what it is but I've never liked Haywards Heath.

they both have their good and bad areas. Burgess hill has some lovely parts but a poor town centre. Haywards Heath has a nicer centre but isn't very nice around the estate where Oathall school is. HH is probably better for communting but in turn is busier and has worse traffic

I cycled the London to Brighton last year and I thought Lindfield (just outside Hayward’s Heath) was particularly lovely.

Worth adding that the villages outside are much nicer if you can afford them

mammy69 · 07/05/2024 23:56

I'd say they're about as nice as each other. I'd lean towards BH as it's much cheaper though

Please stop watching, harassing me, stalking me as I have a brain tumor and it's NOT impossible to still be getting symptoms especially Ataxia, balance and coordination problems especially as I'm totally deaf in my right ear from the brain surgery and radiotherapy can and has stopped the brain from compensating weather you men and women believe me or not it's got to stop. Or take me to court so I can finically be compensated for discrimination, stalking and harassing and breaching the confidentiality act and data protection act and the disability acts. As the brain tumour charity and the Equality Act 2010 and mental health acts says different to you.
