Northern towns/villages recommendations?

Partner and I are expecting our first child and we currently live in an area that is economically deprived and has low outcomes and opportunities. We originally moved here as it’s close to my family but now I’m realising I don’t want my daughter to grow up here so we are now looking to move sometime between now and the next couple of years

we ideally want to stay in the north as every family member live in the north, albeit scattered around, and we are both teachers and doubt we’d be able to afford a nice leafy suburb on our salaries in the south

my dream would be a nice coastal town- north east for this?

but my non-negotiables are close access to motorways/major roads, walking distance to parks and green space and a relatively affluent area (or just not a shit hole). Our budget realistically would be around 350k but could probably stretch to 400.

thanks in advance for your recommendations

Whitley Bay/Monkseaton
Morpeth - quite close to the sea though inland

To be honest £350k-£400k would get you a house somewhere like Gosforth, if that was the vibe you wanted? It’s very busy though!

North West, not North East, but I highly recommend Grange over Sands.
