I have been on homeswapper for 5 years with no avail! Recently joined other swapping websites and have also been on Facebook groups for years! Why is it so hard to move? I’m beginning to give up… is there any other way round this other that mutual swaps? Help

thank you!

Made me own post about this yesterday but no response. Same here I am desperate to move to another part of London but as I don't live in a good "part" I am not getting anywhere I've even tried to see if there are other ways through the council etc but nope! People make out like it's so easy to swap but it isn't at all.

Bless you, I know the struggle. We are all in the same boat but some people’s expectations are ridiculous. Separate dining rooms etc? I think it’s down to unrealistic expectations and I half think people are just on these groups and websites for the sake of it with no intentions of actually moving! It’s getting on my nerves! I hope you find your ideal home 🫶🏻

hi i have been on homeswapper and all the other sites for 2 years now. I have finally just put in paperwork for a swap i have found. i found the relentless searching for a swap absolutely torturous to say the least. People expect the world whilst offering nothing of what i was looking for ! From personal experience I would suggest being as totally flexible as possible when wanting a new home. Some councils will let you join their housing list so long as you have family connections to that place. I wish you every success and would say dont give up - it is hard work but i am sure will be worth it in the end.

I'm currently looking for a swap and honestly it's demoralising so many time wasters. I've just had a potential swap pull out of a viewing half an hour before she was due to arrive her partner had changed his mind apparently 🤷 what is wrong with people 😭.

My dd has found a swap quickly. She was only on exchange/swap site for a month
They have started all the paper work.im suspicious though as dd has a 3rd floor flat without a lift . She's swapping for a ground floor flat. They are both in not great areas. Hopefully I'm just over thinking because it is a lovely place.

It comes across to me that alot of people want perfection. They want to move into a home that's perfectly decorated ( to their taste) people can't seem to imagine a blank canvas and what they would like to do.

Some people won't give any wiggle room at all. Some people don't even explain what they have or looking for it will Just say need 3 bedrooms ... nothing else especially the FB groups.

Hope you find something soon

Hi there I am have pput all my paperwork in for a mutual exchange and now I am panicking they think I'm leaving everything for them to have and leaving myself without things that have cost me hundreds, even some of it, thousands. What do I do about taking my things with me that I don't want to leave here as want them with me when I move.

my friend swapped very fast, from a 2 bed with massive lounge and mezzanine to a one bed flat, so big demand for her place. she got messed up for months by a guy in soho who had mental health issues so he wasnt able to proceed.
